Theodore "Theo" Mollenbrink was born 24 Aug 1851 in Germany. He died 20 Jul 1906 in buried at Custer Cemetary, Custer City, South Dakota. Theodore married Nancy Alice Sharp on 29 Aug 1875 in Harrison County, Indiana.

1990 Census:  Family living in Hill City Precinct, Pennington County, North Dakota.

Oddly enough, there are TWO census records for Theodore Mollenbrink and his family for 1900.  Even though the names are identical on both, they're from Pennington County and Custer county and the birth years are very different.  I can't think of any good reason why this happened except that maybe the census takes visited his house on one day and his place of employment on the next day.  I have both copies of the census record if anyone is interested in seeing them.  Email me at donnaatomkins at aol dot com.

Theodore came to the usa (from Germany) in 1865 or 1872 (depending on which 1990 census you look at).  Both of his parents are German.  In 1900, he was employed as a Teamster.

Gerhardt Frederick Bock resides four and one-half miles northwest of Osage, but has lived in other sections of the West.  He was reared at Rochford, South Dakota, was married in Custer County, that state, and until 1905 lived at Hill City, South Dakota were he operated a meat market.  Coming to Wyoming in the latter year, he was engaged in ranching and raising cattle in the Sundance neighborhood, developing extensive interests there and maintaining them until 1919 when he sold and came to Osage, at which time he established his present residence.  Here he is interested in oil refining and production, as senior member of the firm of G. F. Frederick William Bock was born in Germany and died at Rochford, South Dakota, in 1918.  He came to the United States in young manhood and pioneered into Omaha, Nebraska, where he built the first flour mill in Nebraska.  Later, he became one of the very earliest miners in the Black Hills of South Dakota and when he left them in was to locate in Rochford, where his long and honorable life terminated.  His remains lie in a plot assigned by the Deadwood Cemetery authorities to the pioneers who came to South Dakota during the days when the Indians were a potent force to be taken into account.  One of his happy recollections was of the days when he hunted buffalo in Wyoming, and his grandson (Gerald Boise Bock, who wrote this review) often listened to his account of these hunts.

With the discovery of oil in Weston County came a new era to that region, although for a few years production was retarded because of lack of adequate facilities for refining and transporting the product.  Today, however, these difficulties have been surmounted through the enterprise and far-sightedness of some of the most astute business men in the field, and those composing the firm of G. F. Bock and son belong to this class.  The junior member of the firm, Gerald Boise Bock is still a young man but already he has proved his right to be numbered among the important producers of this part of the state, and associated as he is with his father he enjoys the advantages of the elder's experience in the field.

The birth of Gerald Boise Bock occurred at Hill City, Pennington County, South Dakota, October 24, 1899 and he is a son of Gerhardt Frederick. Bock, the latter of whom was born in Nebraska, August 16, 1871.

Gerald Boise Bock was educated in the public schools of Crook County, Wyoming and the State Normal School, Spearfish, South Dakota and was graduated from its commercial course in 1917.  For the Subsequent two years, he was engaged in operating a public garage at Sundance, but in that year came to the Osage oil fields, and here, as before stated, he has become a successful oil refiner and producer.  He owns a comfortable residence four and one-half miles northwest of Osage.  Like his father, he is independent in politics.  His inclinations have led him to identify himself with the National Pigeon Association, the American King Club, the American Club and the American Homer Association and he still maintains these memberships.  He has the largest pigeon lofts in the State of Wyoming and breeds and raises utility and show pigeons.
